South Shore Roman Catholic Church · Religious / Non-Profit
Facing declining school enrollment, the parish relocated its administrative offices into a formerly unused school building. The repurposed space had no functional network infrastructure — outdated wiring, inadequate internet connectivity, and a phone system that could not serve the expanded campus. The church also needed to modernize its IT environment, which was still running a legacy client/server model with on-premise file storage.
Gold Coast Tech designed and installed a complete ethernet infrastructure throughout the campus, pulling new structured cabling to support offices, conference rooms, and shared workspaces. Internet connectivity was upgraded and configured with failover redundancy to ensure continuity for administrative operations. The network core was rebuilt on the Unifi platform for centralized, manageable switching and wireless access. On the software side, we migrated the parish from its legacy client/server environment to Microsoft 365, implementing Exchange Online for email, SharePoint for document management, cloud-based backups, and Active Directory via Microsoft Entra ID for identity and access management.
The parish now operates from a modern, reliable campus network with built-in redundancy. Staff access files and email from anywhere via Microsoft 365, and the elimination of on-premise servers has significantly reduced maintenance overhead. Gold Coast Tech continues to provide managed IT services following project completion.
