North Shore Assisted Living Facility · Healthcare / Senior Living
An existing managed IT client undertaking a major building reconstruction needed a trusted partner to handle all low-voltage wiring alongside their general contractors. The facility required structured cabling for IP security cameras, access control systems, resident-room coaxial TV connections, and ethernet throughout common areas and offices — all coordinated with multiple third-party vendors while the building remained partially occupied.
Gold Coast Tech served as the low-voltage integrator for the entire project. We ran all coaxial cabling for in-room and common-area televisions and deployed a full ethernet backbone for IP cameras, access control, and IT infrastructure. Security cameras and NVR recording were built on the Unifi Protect platform for unified management. Simultaneously, we upgraded the facility's internet access, replaced aging desktop workstations, and migrated staff from a legacy on-premise environment to Microsoft 365 — including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and cloud-based file storage. The project spanned approximately two years, with all work coordinated around active care operations.
The facility now operates on a fully modern, cloud-first infrastructure. The Unifi Protect system provides comprehensive camera coverage with centralized recording and remote management. Microsoft 365 eliminated the need for on-site servers, reduced IT overhead, and improved staff collaboration. Gold Coast Tech has continued as the facility's managed services provider — a relationship now in its sixth year, with the original infrastructure still performing reliably.
